oh my, where to begin. i have a special place in my heart for this family — this was our second time for a photo session, the first just about seven months ago when sara wanted to capture her oldest son’s dynamic as a family of three. then seven months later, little brother came around.
being a boy mama to two, i love photographing brothers, especially newborn brothers and their older brother. i know how much fun is in store for this family and capturing the early days is magical.
sara and i talked before little man was born how its the most surreal feeling when you already have one “baby” – how does your heart expand for two? i read once that it just grows bigger instead of fitting space for two.
i try to incorporate something that is important to the family, and chris and sara mentioned how meal time is something they love sharing with their family. (i mean who doesn’t love meal time? ) in addition to the most amazing lasagna, i got to capture their mealtime in what we refer to as lifestyle or documentary photography. doing these type of sessions (either as part of a more traditional family photo session or as a stand alone) are probably some of my favorite photos to capture.
