we just got back from a quick vacation in luray, va — it was a blast and the kids had what i hope was a great time (always hard to tell with them!) i’ll be sharing some photos of our trip for my weekly seven on sunday post (be sure to come back and visit me sunday night!) tomorrow i will be second shooting a wedding, which i am over the moon excited about! but before i start counting some sheep tonight, some photos of a little lady who just turned three — that magical age where personality and independence come together for exciting photo sessions!
i’ve been photographing her since she was six months old – she was my very first photo session (before i even started my business) and its amazing how much (both of us) have grown these past 2 and a half years! she will always hold a special place in my heart.
photographing three year olds – i love the challenge. they are determined in what they want, but genuine in their actions, making photographing them one of my favorite experiences. they remind me to slow down and wait, because something magical is always right around the corner.
we started off the morning with photos near the National Cathedral. even though its a favorite photog spot (your always bound to run into at least one or two other photographers there) there is something so serene about the setting that allows us all to relax, regroup and enjoy the beauty of what’s around.
we then headed over to this park that has some beautiful magnolia’s, but they do lose their flowers before the cherry blossoms. that’s okay, because to me, there is nothing like a pink carpet of flower petals.
i always try to sneak in a photo of mom & dad, and the funniest thing usually happens – when the kids realize the spotlight is no longer in them, they still want to get in the action. even if it includes trying to make mom & dad laugh for the camera.
hugs to the three of you – until next time. 🙂
