oh the places we will go | washington, dc. family photographer

i love adventures.  especially when they happen in photo sessions.  for this session we choose to start out at rock creek park and then end up at home to capture some relaxed fun images.  while i love taking photos in beautiful parks with gorgeous light, there is nothing like photographing a family at home.  i’ll be honest – sometimes photographing at home is challenging.  i rely a lot on natural light, and not every home is equipped with abundant free flowing light in every room.  so often we need to get creative.  but something pretty amazing emerges when capturing families at home.
you know why?  everyone starts to relax.

its like we are just hanging out on an ordinary day, and the focus of the photo session is less about photos and more about capturing.  and that makes my photog heart super happy.

So should the photos.

Your wedding feels exactly like, well, you.

I’m Kelly Loss, a documentary wedding photographer in Washington D.C. and northern Virginia. For over 12 years, I’ve been photographing couples who want their wedding day to feel less like a photo shoot and more like a celebration.

By asking thoughtful questions, I’m able to capture the same meaningful moments they would have if they were the ones behind the camera.

Hi there, I'm Kelly!
