many of you know that photography is my part-time gig — and when i’m not behind the camera, i’m typically behind the computer, either editing or working my day job as a meeting planner. in many ways, photography and meeting planning couldn’t be more different, but in some ways they are similar. however, there is one thing that is NOTHING like meeting planning, and that is baby births.
because you can plan all you want – but babies have a way of tossing schedules and plans out the window and arriving exactly when they were meant to be.
this little guy, no exception to the rule. we all thought he would be before his due date – i mean he’s a third baby — they are never late, right? well, he decided to make his grand entrance three days after his due date – in the midst of some pretty snowy weather (well for DC standards!). i joked he didn’t want to waste time showing up too much before thanksgiving — he’s probably going to have a good appetite. 🙂
and even when the snow made his mom and dad question whether i should make the drive out to nova fair oaks hospital, i thought, there is no way i’m missing this! i love, love, love, fresh 48/hospital newborn sessions and the fact that i was going to capture his siblings meeting him for the first time? umm… i would have driven through ten feet of snow to make this happen.
and not just because i love photography, but because i’ve known them for over five years and couldn’t be more thrilled that i was able to document this little man’s first few hours of life. thank you to the jones family for allowing me to capture your amazing family bond. hope you are settling into life as a family of five!
