A microwedding held outside the US Supreme Court in Washington, DC

I was so excited about all the weddings to come in 2020 – this year was lined up to be a stellar year, with lots of super amazing weddings, I was over the moon excited at the start of this year.

And then… the pandemic.

I could tell you a whole story of the emotional roller coaster I went on, but I’ll leave that for another day – because this happened.

I’ve always been in love with small weddings and this photo (2nd one down) was always my inspiration on a wedding I would love to photograph.

So in the midst of all this craziness, what happened was kind of my dream come true. I ended up photographing four beautiful elopements before the governor’s shelter in place order.

When I met Jane and Randy a few months ago, I fell in love with their story and excited about their big Alexandria wedding – it was going to be a blast and couldn’t wait for the celebration.

But it wasn’t the big Alexandria wedding that ended up being the epic day. Instead, it was this small wedding, on the sidewalk of the Supreme Court, that filled my heart.

So should the photos.

Your wedding feels exactly like, well, you.

I’m Kelly Loss, a documentary wedding photographer in Washington D.C. and northern Virginia. For over 12 years, I’ve been photographing couples who want their wedding day to feel less like a photo shoot and more like a celebration.

By asking thoughtful questions, I’m able to capture the same meaningful moments they would have if they were the ones behind the camera.

Hi there, I'm Kelly!
