Often times when two families come together, there is this bit of yin and yang but at Allison and Matt’s Easton, Maryland wedding at the Tidewater Inn, their families blended together like the best ice tea & lemonade.

When first meeting Allison and Matt, I remember thinking how kind, considerate and accomplished they both were, with this sense of natural calmness between the two of them. I thought they had been together since high school (spoiler, they weren’t).

But what surprised me the most on their wedding day, is the raw emotion they both shared in ways I was not expecting! Allison, who has some similarities to me (she loves a good plan!), but when it came to exchanging her wedding vows, there was not a dry eye (including her) at the ceremony. And Matt — lets just say I never would have believed his dance moves until I saw them.

But the best part — their families. From Allison’s father’s toast, to how Matt’s mom adored her children and grandchildren; being at their wedding you could feel all the love, energy and excitement from literally everyone there.

Maybe its because their wedding was on my birthday, but it was one party I could have danced all night at!

Oh, and remember how I said how calm and collected Allison was? She never seemed to stress, even when a category 3 hurricane was scheduled to role in the the day of their wedding. Lucky for us, it moved out a day or two before and we had the most gorgeous weather!
